NIGHTMARES ON WAX
This artists needs no introduction. Nightmares on Wax’s work is synonymous with a place in time.
It is a place individual to those who have savoured his popular brand of sun-drenched dubbed out soul, where fragments of hazy memories, halcyon days and past snapshots encapsulate a generation’s sofa sojourning.
As the Times newspaper once commented, “George Evelyn is one of those people who can bottle sunshine”.
This blissful quality is perhaps the x-factor in his success as a musician and it is one that George consciously and liberally mixes in. He takes from the essence of soul where emotion is its driving force. However, it is apparent that his emotions veer on the lighter side. As he says “I want to share my positivity in life, in music.”
You can expect nothing but soulful sunshine vibes on the mountain from his headlining DJ set.
LEA LISA
“I am, above all, a DJ,” states the always captivating Lea Lisa. The French selector is also a vinyl addict who never stops digging and hasn’t since she first started in 1996.
Often combing sensuous vocals and analogue keys, thumping drums and well-crafted percussion, a Lea Lisa track is an authentic link to the essence of house music, but with an always fresh perspective.
20 years of knowledge, an infectious passion and the ability to lay it down with real emotion, there are no limits to where Lea Lisa will take the dance floor at Cosmic Valley.
NEMOY
Nemoy plays soulful music you can dance to. Sometimes live, some times on vinyl, but always soulful.
He’s a vinyl dude, music lover, multi-instrumentalist, collector of fine vintage Keys, midi controller scientist and DJ.
As a kid, he started learning to play a bunch of instruments and then just couldn‘t stop ever since. Witness him incorporate some of those instruments and a variety of stylistic elements into one musical vision at Cosmic Valley, and enjoy the chaos, the awkwardness, the funk, the groove and the magic that is Nemoy's music.
ALEX DALLAS
A Zurich legend, Alex runs and co-owns the Club Zukunft in Zurich and also the Label Drumpoet Community.He has graced the turntables aside many great DJs, who all share the utmost respect for his deep, bouncing and twisted obscurities of dancefloor tracks.
He has been active in DJing, producing, organsing parties and running labels in Zurich since 1996. He has travelled the world playing music, and has always stuck to his vision of challenging the norm, making him more in touch with the underground scene.
His intense passion to create space for the music he loves as well as the problems with greedy club owners has forced him for his own good to run clubs and in 2002 he found himself co-managing Zurich's craziest club ever the Dachkantine. In 2006 he opened the barrier-breaking underground club Zukunft - a place of musical and artistical freedom.
But even as a club owner, Alex still loves to get his hands dirty and you will get to see him play one of his brilliant sets at Cosmic Valley. His love for beats to make you hit the floor, and for anything other than commercial, will have you jumping all night long!
SEBASTIAN SPRING
Sebastian Spring grew up in Leukerbad and is one of the founding members of the Cosmic Valley Festival. As a member of Leuker Kultur and the Bonzzaj label, he has produced various tracks, remixes and edits that reached international audiences.
Over the last few years, Sebastian Spring has been making waves on the festival scene, taking his eclectic yet well-thought out grooves of disco and house from Love International in Croatia to Gottwood in the UK, and everywhere in between. You will often hear him gracing the airwaves on Switzerland’s rundfunk.fm and on Ibiza Sonica.
You can always guarantee a true melange of deep energetic house and techno with influences of disco, soul and jazz. Or as Sebastian likes to put it “Club music with big emotion”! With a big smile and a penchant for sequins, Sebastian certainly knows how to create a party...
PRINCESS P
It's purely natural that working in a record shop will train the knowledge of music. After all, access to a seemingly never-ending pool of new releases, new editions and purchased collections forms the ideal basis for continually developing and refining one's own taste in music. If you listen and look at Princess P, at her work behind the turntables, it quickly becomes clear that she has enjoyed an excellent listening education.
Accordingly, she selects records in every context with aplomb, surprise and flexibility, which bear witness to her genre-independent expertise.
Her DJ sets are based on savoury house with a touch of indie and techno. And, as anyone with an adventurous disposition knows, the detour is often rewarded with a more beautiful view off the beaten track.
SHARMA
A lifelong collector and selector of vinyl, Sharma is a British-born DJ known for her vast musical knowledge, her ability to uplift a dancefloor and her endless enthusiasm for her craft.
Her extensive musical education came courtesy of some of the most discerning clubs, festivals and bars across the globe, honing her unique musical style over many years and continents alike. Nothing brings her more pleasure than spinning soulful grooves and impeccable laidback jams, although she’s also been known to inspire a dancefloor with an outburst of sparkling disco and house when the occasion arises.
HOLMES
Holmes is a founding member of Leuker Bonzzaj and organiser of the Schloss Ensemble. Holmes has dedicated himself entirely to the black gold and conjures up unforgettable moments with his vinyl-only sets.
Although his music continues to speak volumes, he is also currently recognised as one of the most infamous doctors in Wallis, starring in Tschugger on Swiss TV.
DJ SIOBHAN
After many years working as a Film Editor in Hollywood, her roots firmly planted in her hometown of LA, Siobhan decided to move to Europe and seek a different creative path, Music. Her style is an energetic rhapsody of genres methodically chosen for the perfect dance floor. Her emotive passion for the masters that paved the way has trained her ear and guided her skills. Starting in Berlin, she transported her soulful funk side until she found her true groove with full potential to be explored and started jumping into booths across the globe.
Siobhan's fluid approach is infectiously organic and demonstrates her love for all good music.
COSMIC PETE
As a selector and DJ, Cosmic Pete devotes himself to the seductive power of music without fear of stylistic boundaries. He loves to play out his eclectic record collection which spans from jazz, groovy classics and house music to obscure tunes from all over the world.
